Logs need cleaning staining, and sealing with a good UV protection every 5 years, with usually periodic yearly inspection and attention to areas the recieve sun the most. Caulk and chinking are you protection to keep out moisture in between the logs.

project, from hand peeled logs to milled logs and siding, we can find
your logs or we will have them custom cut at one of our many sawmill
suppliers locally in North Carolina.
Modern Chinking by Sansin
Applied by skilled craftsmen to replicate the original look of cement/lime based chinking. Log Cabins are prone to leaks, air and water can seep in your logs, and the cement based chinking holds the moisture to rot the logs.
Application of new chinking can save you thousands in heating and cooling cost, and protect your logs.
Hand Hewn Log rails, post and spindles are hand selected and peeled to
meet each homes needs. From Red Cedar Post and rails to Red and White
Pine Skip peeled.
Chinking and StainingIf your Logs are neglected they can be repaired, in most cases with proper treatment, they will look just like new. We clean the entire home with Log Brightner, then sand any areas that need attention, then staining with 1 and 2 step systems, with UV Protection, and NBS-30 additive or Bug Juice. Butt ends of log can be sanded smooth to create the finished detail.
Remember in selecting the stain for you logs, as a woodworker, we

Window and Door repair & replacement
Its difficult to find a competitant and qualified company to replace or repair your damaged windows and doors. Some wood windows can be repaired cheaper than replacement. We can fix those hard to open or settled shut windows, and get them back to designed working condition.
